Professional
I am a 2008 Texas Tech University graduate with a bachelor’s in public relations, a minor in political science, and a concentration in journalism.
While I am a new professional, I am not new to implementation of Web strategies or their physical execution. I started designing HTML in 1999 after moving to Texas, and while I started with Comic Sans MS and a black background, I believe I have grown from those meager beginnings, keeping up with trends (frames, inline frames, etc.) to grow as a designer and implementer.
I have experience administrating Linux and Unix machines remotely and locally, although the majority of my admin time has been spent on remote machines. I also have a background in software development, and took several C++ classes in high school and college (2002 to 2005), and am proficient in PHP/mySQL Web application development.
Also an amateur photographer, and hope to purchase my first dSLR camera in the summer of 2009. I have experience touching up photos in Adobe Photoshop, and then using those photos in other areas of the suite (inDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.).
My school training included challenging looks at U.S. judicial policy (implementation and practice, including analysis and development of oral arguments, as well as a variety of appellate processes), studies of South American and Asian economics and political policy and its social implications. I also have experience in writing for marketing, advertising and public relations campaigns, as well as implementing those ideas in a creative, cohesive manner to identify with a brand or initiative. In addition, I enjoy (yes, it will sound crazy) developing research proposals, designing the protocols and analyzing the data to identify trends for a variety of purposes. My current research interest concerns Twitter and public awareness, as well as its use in emergency situations when mainstream media communications are limited.
My love is brand development and maintenance, and I enjoy working with small businesses to make plans to help them be increasingly successful, even in light of the hard times which may be upon us here in the states.
I enjoy collaborative works, and if you have a project you think I might be interested, please contact me and we can discuss it further. I am also available for design, research, writing and marketing free lance work via CC Communications. Access it from the link in the main bar above.
